It's been a long week. The wife of a friend died after a short -- too short -- fight with cancer. Her husband and 8-month-old son miss her dearly. I'm certain she misses them.

You could pray for them, if you wanted to. Not big, complicated prayers. Just little ones.

And then maybe include yourself. That could be good.

I am sure we will see you at the funeral... And we have been praying hard, here at the seminary. Big prayers and little ones.

Hey Mick,

It was good to see you. Too bad we didn't get to visit on Monday.

Tell the boss he is a wiener for not being there.

So how did the vote on Sunday go? Is Hope getting another inter or something more? or Both?

yeah, I was hoping to get some time to visit but both boys were out by the end of the service and standing around holding a sleeping toddler isn't a fun way to pass the time.

my boss wasn't there because of a previous commitment to the University -- Hope hosted the 'Chair of Christian Thought' lecture (now there's an oxymoron) monday night. One of us had to be at Hope, and it wasn't going to be me.

The vote went well, the congregation decided to seek out more staffing (at the expense of the intern program, I think). I've already had to dance around questions of "could you come back and be our second pastor?"

Those questions come solely out fo the 'devil you know' stream of thought, methinks.

it was good to see you though -- however briefly. Hope the drive back to 'toon was safe.

Well, I guess the big guy is forgiven...

I got a few of those devil you know comments too. It sounds like the seminary thinks there will be an intern at Hope next year... that might be something they should communicate. I also know there is a shortage of sites, so...

The drive back was pretty good. We only broke down once outside of Kindersley and had to get towed from there at 5AM. And the repairs to my truck were only quoted to be 4000 dollars at the first Jeep dealership, I think I will get a second opinion on the cost of a new transfer case.

being very honest, I don't know what they're planning right now, whether they're going to assume it will take 24 months or so to find a second staff and therefore take another intern, or abandon it altogether.

I keep my nose out of it.

As for the transfer case, YOW!
