Here in my house we're approaching a yearly festival. No, it's not Easter, though we certainly celebrate that; not April Fools'. Nope, we're getting into 'crunch time'. Not our favourite time of year.
In as long as the co-Director and I have known each other, I've been a full-time student. Every April, I hit the crunch, as assignments, final papers, and projects come due. The interesting part about this year is that this is, theoretically, my last year doing this. My last year as a full-time student. Thanks be to God.
I enjoy being a student. Scratch that. I LOVE being a student. The process of learning, of research, of formulating thoughts and ideas and into coherent arguments in papers give me more happiness than is probably appropriate. But at the same time, I'm tired. Tired of living month-to-month, tired of watching my friends work at their careers while I'm still building the foundation for mine.
But I've done other things that most people don't. I've helped build a family, as well, juggling school, work, and home has given me a firm base for the future. I chose the route I've taken, and I rejoice in it. I do have the best of both worlds -- a calling that I love, and a family that I adore. And I look forward with joy to beginning the next step in our journey together.
Okay, break's over. Back to hacking out the 67 pages of assignments I need to get done in the next 25 days.

Of all the things that caused stress while in school, the greatest was living month to month. And I didn't know this until I stopped doing it. So I wish you the best and that your last months to months may be easy on your family.
I know you don't have a date, but have you considered a location for your ordination? Lethbridge? Calgary? Wherever you are called? I would definitely like to come!
Erik, oh yeah, the month to month....thanks for your kind words.
As for my ordination, I think it'll be wherever my first call is -- I've hopped around to too many churches. I'll definitely let you know, though -- invites will go out through the blogsphere and facebook, of course.
blessings!
Yeah...some of us have vacation plans to, um, plan. When/where is Ordination Day?
Keep your eyes on the prize.

I'll let you know. I've heard nothing from anyone.
